You don’t get to witness the long arm of the law collaborating with criminals in the name of justice every day. The story in the upcoming action comedy The Big 4 from Indonesia will center on that particular dynamic. Netflix has unveiled the movie’s trailer, which promises to be an action-packed journey to exacting justice on a murdering villain as the movie’s December 15 release date approaches.
A group of four assassins with distinctly different job tasks and responsibilities are introduced in the trailer. There is the Leader, the Bait, the Badass, the Sniper, and so on. Together, they appear to be an all-powerful team that accomplishes their goals while creating quite a stir. The Mentor holds it all together. After the introductions, the trailer quickly takes a dark turn when the father of a police officer is killed. Dina is inconsolable, but when she awakens, she embarks on a search for those who can identify and bring her father’s killer to justice. Her life is completely altered by what she learns.
Her first trip was the Paranais Villa, where the staff member was not very helpful. Dina discovers during her inquiry that The Mentor, the leader of the movie’s famous assassin team, was her father. The same adversaries are after her because of his « work-related » death. The Big 4 will soon return to battle to aid Dina in her fight for justice after putting down their weapons and retiring. The person dubbed the Scorpion of South East Asia is the object of their combined vengeance. There will undoubtedly be carnage when the two teams clash, but it’s important to keep in mind that sometimes it takes a criminal to catch a criminal.
The Big 4 features excellent action choreography, gun and knife fights, and battle cries, but it also has a humorous element that promises to elevate the viewing experience. Only the second Indonesian original movie to be released by the streaming juggernaut this year, the movie was shot there.
