Saldana Biography :

In Passaic, New Jersey, on June 19, 1978, Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldaa welcomed a daughter named Zoe. Her mother is Puerto Rican, while her father is Dominican. She was reared in New York’s Queens. She and her family relocated to the Dominican Republic when she was ten years old, where they would stay for the following seven years. While residing there, Zoe developed a strong passion for performance dance and started training at the esteemed ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet as well as other dance styles. The young woman’s training not only gave her a great outlet for her enthusiasm and energy, but it also served as a fortunate prelude to the beginning of her professional acting career.

At the age of 17, Zoe and her family relocated back to the United States, where she rekindled her passion of dance and deepened her fascination with theatrical performances.

She started out as a performer with the Faces theater group, which produced plays with themes dealing with subjects like drug misuse and sex that were intended to send positive messages to teenagers. She gained tremendous experience from these performances, and she also felt immensely proud of herself for making a difference in the lives of other young people.

Her prior dance training and acting experience greatly aided her in landing her first major film role as Eva Rodriguez, the gifted and tenacious ballet dancer in the movie Danse ta vie (2000). Since she started her professional career a few years ago, Zoe’s talent and drive have allowed her to work with big actors, actresses, and business insiders on blockbuster movies at a rate that very few other young professionals have ever known.

In addition to holding her own in large-scale motion picture productions, Zoe has won the respect and admiration of actors and actresses including Tom Hanks, Bernie Mac, Keira Knightley, Ashton Kutcher, Kirsten Dunst, and Orlando Bloom as well as filmmakers Jerry Bruckheimer and Steven Spielberg. The sky is the limit for this young actress, who has a great range, intense concentration, and a steely drive to be associated with projects that challenge her professionally with wide-ranging subject subjects and characters, according to several of her co-stars, producers, and directors. Just about everybody who she has worked with or with will have positive things to say about her, and friendships and respect that have been gained are easily apparent.
